Snubbed

Harry Masters was snubbed today. He lost out to Halladay for the starting pitcher job at the all star game. Sad.

even though...

Greinke has more strikeouts, has allowed fewer home runs and is about even in walks. That pretty much encompasses everything a pitcher has control of. Yet even when you look at ERA, Greinke (2.12) has a huge edge over Halladay (2.85) despite the effect of the defenses behind them. And that effect is significant. According to Baseball Info Solutions, the Blue Jays have featured the league's best defense so far this season, while the Royals are tied for the second-worst.

Dumb.
